Last year, the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) opened a brand new, innovative, lounge based patient ward, called “The Holly Suite”. The Holly Suite broadens the scope of ‘The Lounge’ philosophy and expands this model of care to all cardiac and thoracic patients who come to LHCH for a day case procedure.

Holly Suite is a medical day case and diagnostic treatment suite. This facility promotes patient comfort and privacy, before, during and after procedures. The area has comfortable furnishings, décor and lighting, as well as refreshments and entertainment for patients in a non-clinical environment. The goal was to create a quiet and calm area which supports patient independence and reduces the need for clinical observations.  Comfortable Haelvoet Domus recliners provide an opportunity for patients to put their feet up, whilst easy chairs and soft lighting have been used to create a relaxation zone. There is also a private area away from the lounge which enables patients to rest post procedure if required.
